Dear friends,
I am sending you this first message for our September High Holy days by acknowledging the moment we are living in. As we know, the actions taken today by Israel against Iran have been a long time coming in terms of Iran’s continued development of nuclear capability, it’s threat to Israel, including its support of Hamas. At the same time we continue to be deeply concerned for the actions of that terrorist organization that is an enemy, not only of Israel, but I believe of many who live in Gaza.
The situation feels very personal as Elisha and Stef were about to take their kids to Israel this morning and had to pivot as all flights into Israeli airspace have been suspended!
Even as we look ahead to meaningful high holidays, we pray for peace and wiser hearts to bring it into being. Now, we are excited to invite you to our joyous welcoming of the Jewish New Year in the Fall of 2025. Once more we will gather at our Synagogue by the Sea, at 4:50
the Annenberg Community House (as well as online) for music, community, and the uplifting message of new beginnings. Join us for Rosh Hashanah (Tuesday morning, September 23, 2025) for the blowing of the shofar, and at Kol Nidre (Wednesday eve, October 1), and Yom Kippur (Thursday, October 2, 2025) for Bayit Shelanu Synagogue’s incandescent Jewish experiences that inspire, connect us, and lift our spirits.
Look for rich details in the coming weeks, as Jan, Rena, Bruce, Steve, Ginger, and more, welcome you to services that truly make a difference.
Ticket Orders Open July 1st L’chaim! To the health of our community and the rich possibilities ahead!
4:50
B’shalom, Jan
