The Shabbat of Shabbats and All We Can Be

Welcome back to these High Holy Days. Your overwhelming positive reaction to our Rosh Hashanah service—whether you joined us in person or on our livestream—has been truly heartening. We are so moved by your enthusiastic, gratitude-filled response which deepens the connection we share as a community. This coming shabbat is known as Shabbat Shuva, the Sabbath of Return, of reminding ourselves of all we can be.

Several of you reached out asking for resources from the service:

Last week, I also shared several powerful questions raised by Dr. Rick Hanson. As we move toward Yom Kippur next week, I hope you will join me in reflecting

  • In this life, what do you really care about?
  • Looking back, what has truly mattered to you?
  • Looking ahead, what do you want to keep at the center?
  • What, if anything, can you change that might better lead to making that gratitude a reality?

We look forward to your joining us upstairs in the Sand and Sea Room overlooking the ocean at the Annenberg Community Beach House or on our Livestream for Kol Nidre, Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm, Oct. 1, and Yom Kippur/Yizkor, Thursday, Oct. 2 at 10 AM.

May the inspiration of these words and the spirit of the Days of Awe carry us forward together.
